In June 2022, the Building Regulations were amended. Fundamental changes occurred to existing guidance documents Part F and L and two new Approved Documents Part O – Overheating and Part S - Infrastructure for charging electric vehicles were introduced.

In December 2022 Part R, the Building Regulation standard for communication infrastructure also under went substantial changes, requiring infrastructure and connections for gigabit-capable networks.
